Live Earth in Rio de Janeiro Carries on
It almost didn't take place, but at the last minute a local judge gave the green light and an estimated 400,000 people made their way down to Copacabana Beach to enjoy the free entertainment. The concert started ahead of schedule (an unusual occurance in Brazil) with an unexpected opener from Brazilian pop singer Guilderme Arantes who sang an appropriately named 'Planeta Agua'. The act was followed by a variety of other performances including Macy Gray and Samba legend Jorge Ben Jor. The event was closed by Lenny Kravitz who piped in with a few words in Portuguese. Here is a video of his performance of 'Let Love Rule' at the concert. For more footage of the concert check out the Live Earth website.
