Gastro-Tourism Revolution In Peru
Gastro-tourism is the latest trend in tourism in Peru, a country traditionally known for its ruins and archaeological wonders. More and more we are seeing the terms 'Peru' and 'food' showing up in the press, like in this Reuters article; a refreshing change from less inviting terms that would have dominated the press a decade ago when referring to this country. At OTR we have also recently been writing about how wonderful Peruvian food is and about its international expansion. And over the past couple of months we have been visiting restaurants in Lima and Cusco for our upcoming coverage of Peru. We are glad to see, then, that some business-minded people are taking advantage of the increase in more affluent tourism to this country and making sure the world takes note of this revolution. This will hopefully make sure that more visitors stay in Peru’s capital, which not only is rich in history and culture but also offers an unparalleled gastronomic experience.
One such tour, A Taste of Peru, is a 7 day tour of Lima, Cusco and Machu Picchu with a focus on tasting local flavours. The tour includes visits to markets to see and taste local produce, some basic lessons on making dishes such as ceviche and samplings from a variety of restaurants. (Thanks to Peru Food for letting us know about them). Stay tuned for our upcoming coverage of Peru and more recommendations on where to eat and culinary tours.

this is very interesting Weight: The previous versions were a good step forward. The ability to carry 10-12 books in a relatively small if heavy form factor was fantastic. This version weighs less then 9 ounces. That's less than a can of soda. The device is said to hold up to 80 books with more possible through memory cards. This could do for books what then iPod did for music. Imagine carrying around a large portion of your library much like you carry your music collection in your iPod?
